Twinfield accounting software is one of the lesser known accounting systems on the UK market. The main reason for this is the strategy by the owners historically has been to focus on selling to Accounting Practices. As such it has had little exposure to the direct client market.

At its core Twinfield is a robust accounting engine which is scalable. For accountants or finance professionals it works well and delivers core functionality efficiently and flexibly. From a core accounting functionality perspective Twinfield is a good system and very cost effective for Businesses who want something to handle all of your accounting needs and many of the more complex finance areas such as consolidation, multi-currency, fixed assets etc.

We would not recommend to use this solution as a Business owner or someone with limited financial experience trying to do their own books. The key area for development with Twinfield is around the User Interface which has unfortunately not moved with the times in many places.

We tend to recommend Twinfield only in certain circumstances. It works well in certain sectors where you don’t need more than 2 dimensions or tracking categories and you are not reliant on your accounting system to produce the reporting outputs. We can use apps and integrated systems to improve & enhance the financial reporting capabilities and the system works well as an accounting engine.
